Cover Commission Context

I've been working on a new cover painting commission and really enjoying the work and style! It's a 60"x42"x2" canvas for an image with lots of color and a psychadelic feel of impressionism. From initially looking at it, I saw an impasto background achieved with a medium narrow curved palette knife in vertival strokes. There's a more freeform body coloration based on the warmth and light on the skin with a line based depiction of the hair. It was perceived by the client to be dreamlike which influences the way I craft this work.
